Description

Domaine Pierre Labet Bourgogne Blanc Vieilles Vignes is a regional white Burgundy drawn from vines of more than fifty years in Beaune and Chorey-lès-Beaune.

Bourgogne Blanc is the regional appellation of Burgundy and covers a great range of quality, most of it decided by where the vines sit and how old they are. François and Edouard Labet run Domaine Pierre Labet from Beaune, and this cuvée is assembled from small parcels of Chardonnay in Beaune and neighbouring Chorey-lès-Beaune, all of them planted more than fifty years ago on the clay-limestone soils at the foot of the Côte de Beaune. Low yields from old vines give the wine more substance than the appellation usually offers. It is raised on lees to build texture, with only twenty per cent of the barrels new, so the oak stays in a supporting role behind the stone-fruit and pear character and the creamy weight the Labets look for.

Drinking well now and over the next two to three years. Serve at 10-12°C with roast chicken, grilled flathead or a mushroom tart.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
