Domaine Tempier is a historic estate located in the Bandol appellation of Provence, founded in 1830 and brought to prominence by Léonie Tempier in 1885. Despite the devastation of phylloxera in the early 20th century, the domaine was reborn with a replanting of noble grape varieties, particularly Mourvèdre. In 1941, Bandol gained AOC status, requiring red wines to be at least 50% Mourvèdre and aged for 18 months in barrel—a standard that Domaine Tempier helped establish. Today, the estate is a leader in sustainable viticulture and remains a reference point for expressive, structured Bandol wines.
