Domaine Vincent Latour Meursault 1er Cru Goutte d'Or 2021

Domaine Vincent Latour Meursault 1er Cru Goutte d'Or is a rich, floral white Burgundy from a premier cru on the village's northern side.

The vineyard's name translates as drop of gold, a nod to the colour and richness of its wines. Meursault's Chardonnay is grown on the limestone and marl slopes of the Côte de Beaune, and this family domaine from the village follows the traditional path of barrel fermentation and lees ageing. In the glass it is light gold, with lemongrass and floral aromas and a palate that combines richness with a fine mineral line. The 2021 season was cool and frost-affected, bringing lower yields and a fresher style across the Côte de Beaune.

A brief decant helps it open up. Match it with poached salmon and beurre blanc, roast quail or soft-rind cheeses such as Brillat-Savarin.
