Domaine Vincent Latour Meursault 1er Cru Perrières 2021

Domaine Vincent Latour Meursault 1er Cru Perrières is a powerful, mineral Meursault from what many regard as the village's finest premier cru.

Perrières takes its name from the old stone quarries on the site, and its thin, rocky limestone soils give wines of tension and precision. It lies on the southern side of the commune, close to Charmes. The domaine is a family operation rooted in Meursault, fermenting and ageing the wine in oak barrels. This bottling shows a bright gold colour and smoky, vanilla aromas, with very high minerality, a powerful palate and a certain severity on the finish that should soften with time.

Give it time: it will reward cellaring for at least five years, and a decant helps if opening it now. Serve at around 12 degrees with lobster thermidor, turbot or roast pork belly.
