Domaine Yves Cuilleron Condrieu 'Les Chaillets' Viognier 2025

Domaine Yves Cuilleron Condrieu 'Les Chaillets' is a full-bodied Viognier from old vines in the northern Rhône.

Some of these vines were planted by Yves Cuilleron's uncle, and on decomposed granite they give the wine depth and grip. Viognier is the only grape allowed in the appellation, and slopes this steep mean all the work is by hand. Since taking over the family vines in the late 1980s, he has become one of its leading names, with holdings in its best sites. Ripe grapes go into the press as whole bunches, ferment on wild yeasts in barrel and are then aged on stirred lees with modest new oak.

Rich and perfumed, yet dry, with apricot weight held by a firm line. Best within a few years; serve at 10–12°C with roast chicken, scallops, pork belly or mildly spiced Asian food.
