Forest Hill Vineyard Block 2 Riesling 2025

Forest Hill Vineyard Block 2 Riesling is a single-block Riesling from the estate's Mount Barker vineyard in the Great Southern.

Riesling was among the first varieties planted when Forest Hill established its vineyard at Mount Barker in the 1960s, and the grape remains central to the estate. Block 2 is bottled on its own to show the character of one particular part of the vineyard. The region's cool nights, gravelly soils and long ripening season give Riesling fine acidity and stony drive. The 2025 is described as floral and waxy, with jasmine tea, Meyer lemon and persimmon, a stony backbone, lemon oil and fleshy yellow fruit balanced by natural acidity.

Well chilled, it suits freshly shucked oysters, grilled whiting, Vietnamese salads or pork with apple. It will also age gracefully for many years.
