Forest Hill Vineyard Block 8 Chardonnay 2024

Forest Hill Vineyard Block 8 Chardonnay is a flinty, saline single-block Chardonnay from the Great Southern.

Block 8 is one of the single-block wines from Forest Hill's Mount Barker property, which has grown grapes since the 1960s. The winery refers to the block's classic saline drive, a character it shows from year to year. Mount Barker's cool nights and long autumn help Chardonnay hold its natural acidity while it develops texture. The 2024 is described with red grapefruit, lime and nectarine aromas alongside flint, curry leaf and seaweed, and a fresh palate of citrus and subtle stone fruit with plenty of texture.

Chill lightly and serve with grilled fish, scallops, roast chicken or a creamy seafood pasta. Around 10 degrees shows it best.
