Jim Barry Lodge Hill Riesling 2026

Jim Barry Lodge Hill Riesling is a fragrant young Riesling from a high-altitude vineyard in the Clare Valley's eastern ranges.

Grown on a site the Barry family has owned since 1977, the Lodge Hill vineyard sits at roughly 480 metres, well above much of the valley floor. That height brings cool nights after sunny days, a combination that lets the fruit ripen slowly while holding on to its acidity. The founder chose the spot believing it could grow some of the finest Riesling in the region, and the family, now in its third generation, continues that idea with this wine. The 2026 shows lime zest, lemon balm and white flowers, with chalky acidity, a touch of white peach and a long, moreish finish.

Chill it well and pair with salt-and-pepper squid, scallops with chilli and lime, or a green papaya salad. Drink it now for its freshness, or cellar a few bottles to see how it builds with age.
