Jim Barry The McRae Wood Shiraz Cellar Release 3L 2012

Jim Barry The McRae Wood Shiraz Cellar Release 3L is a double magnum of Clare Valley Shiraz with more than a decade of age, released by the winery.

McRae Wood comes from the Barry family's vineyard of that name and ranks among their most age-worthy Shiraz. Held back in the winery's cellar and sealed under cork, this three-litre bottle has been ageing slowly, as big formats do. Red and purple tones in the glass lead to dark plum, spice and purple florals on the nose. The palate brings black plum, black cherry, bramble and compote, with restrained structure, integrated tannin and a finish of dark spice and black berries.

Made for sharing, it will pour around twenty glasses. Decant and serve at around 16 to 18 degrees with a whole roasted porchetta, rare beef fillet or a platter of hard cheeses.
