Kooyong Estate Chardonnay 2024

Kooyong Estate Chardonnay is a blend of the best estate-grown Chardonnay from Kooyong's Mornington Peninsula vineyards.

Kooyong is one of the Peninsula's leading names for Burgundian varieties and is owned by the Gjergja family, who also own Port Phillip Estate. The Estate wine brings together fruit from across its vineyard blocks, with barrel maturation and careful lees ageing adding texture. The 2024 opens with grapefruit, lime and white stone fruit, citrus blossom and lemon curd, with roasted cashew, nougat and flint. The palate is fine and detailed, with nuanced phenolics, a creamy mid-palate and a crisp finish.

Serve chilled with pan-fried whiting, a chicken and tarragon pie or a soft-rind cheese. It is drinking well now and will keep improving over the medium term.
