La Soufrandière Pouilly-Vinzelles Climat Les Longeays is a biodynamically farmed single-climat white from vines planted in 1971.

Pouilly-Vinzelles is a small appellation in the southern Mâconnais, neighbouring the better-known Pouilly-Fuissé, and La Soufrandière, run by the Bret brothers, is its leading estate. Les Longeays is a continuation of the Les Quarts hillside, where the domaine holds 0.55 hectares. Where Les Quarts faces east over the Saône valley, Les Longeays wraps around the contour of the Vinzelles hill as it turns south-east; it is the warmer of the two and can be picked as much as a week earlier. The soils differ as well: Les Quarts has limestone close to the surface, while Les Longeays carries metres of deep red clay above the mother rock, which makes the wine's saline, iodine-like cut all the more unexpected. From the 2024 vintage the climat has been classified premier cru.

Drink from release to about eight years; serve with roast chicken, grilled fish or a soft cheese at 10-12°C.
