Nautilus Estate Albariño 2025

Nautilus Estate Albariño is a fresh, saline white from Marlborough made from the Spanish grape best known in Rías Baixas.

Established in the mid-1980s by the Hill-Smith family, the South Australian owners of Yalumba, this family-owned estate has its winery and cellar door at Renwick in the heart of Marlborough. Albariño is a relatively recent arrival in New Zealand, but it has adapted well to the region's sunny days and cool nights, keeping the bright natural acidity and sea-spray freshness it shows in north-west Spain. The 2025 offers white peach and mandarin zest, juicy stonefruit and a touch of salinity, with fine texture and a long, zesty finish.

Serve well chilled with grilled prawns, fish tacos or a plate of salted almonds and olives. Best enjoyed young, while its freshness is at its peak.
