Place of Changing Winds Between Two Mountains Pinot Noir is a Macedon Ranges Pinot Noir from the estate vineyard at Bullengarook.

This is the least expensive Pinot on the list and receives exactly the same work in the vineyard as everything above it, which, given plantings at densities between 12,000 and 14,500 vines per hectare, means a great deal of hand labour. The 2019 draws on several parcels across the small site, taking in MV6, 777 and 667 plant material. Roughly half the blend went in as whole bunches. Fermentation was spontaneous, in tank, before the wine moved to 500- and 600-litre Stockinger casks for malolactic conversion and ageing. The vineyard lies between Mount Macedon and Mount Bullengarook, which is where the name comes from.

Red cherry, raspberry and a whole-bunch lift of spice and rose, with fine drying tannin and clean acid. Serve cool, 14 degrees, and give it a little air. Duck, roast chicken or a plate of mushrooms and lentils suit it.
