Place of Changing Winds Tradition White 1.5L MAGNUM 2022

Place of Changing Winds Tradition White in magnum is a blend of Chardonnay, Marsanne and Roussanne from the Macedon Ranges.

The idea was straightforward: if a cellar blend works for the reds, why not for the three white grapes sitting in the barrel hall. Two-thirds of this is Marsanne and Roussanne, generous and faintly waxy; the remaining third is Chardonnay raised in a new Dominique Laurent Tronçais cask, which supplies the line and the tension the Rhône grapes lack on their own. The first year passed in a mixture of 500-litre cask, Wineglobes and seasoned barriques, the second in steel, and bottling followed at the end of November 2023. In magnum it will hold its freshness a good while longer.

Quince, beeswax and roasted hazelnut, with a firm citrus spine running through the middle. Serve at 11 to 12 degrees, not colder, and give it air. Roast chicken with tarragon, pork loin, or a plate of smoked trout and crème fraîche.
