Pol Roger Rich Demi-Sec Gift Box is the sweeter style of champagne from the family house at Épernay, presented in a gift carton.

Demi-sec denotes a champagne with a higher dosage, the sugar added after disgorgement, well above the level used for a brut. Sweeter champagne was the norm in the nineteenth century, when the wines shipped to Russia and much of Europe carried a great deal of sugar, and the style survives for the dessert course and for those who simply prefer it. Pol Roger's version, called Rich, uses the same three grapes as its Brut Réserve, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, and comes from the same cellars beneath Épernay, where the house has been established since 1849. It is aged on its lees for several years before release.

Serve very cold, at around 6 to 8 degrees, with fruit tarts, pastries and blue cheese, or over ice as an aperitif.
