Rocche Costamagna Langhe Nebbiolo DOC 1.5L MAGNUM 2023

Rocche Costamagna Langhe Nebbiolo DOC 1.5L MAGNUM is a fragrant, approachable Nebbiolo from a family estate in the Barolo village of La Morra.

The Costamagna family have made wine in La Morra since the 19th century, and the estate is now run by Alessandro Locatelli. Its name comes from the Rocche dell'Annunziata, one of the most celebrated vineyards in the village. The Langhe DOC lets the estate make Nebbiolo that is ready to enjoy sooner than its Barolo while still showing the grape's perfume and savoury grip. Expect deep ruby colour, violet, raspberry and wild strawberry aromas, and an elegant, harmonious palate with soft tannins and a long aftertaste. The magnum format makes it a natural choice for a long lunch or a bigger table.

Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees and give it half an hour in a decanter or open glass. Pair it with tajarin in butter and sage, veal with mushrooms or aged cheeses. Large bottles age slowly and gracefully, so it can also be put away for a few years.
