Running with Bulls Barossa Tempranillo 2024

Running with Bulls Barossa Tempranillo is a fruit-forward Barossa red with dark cherry, mocha and plush tannins.

The Hill-Smith family launched Running with Bulls in 2008 to celebrate Spanish grape varieties, and Tempranillo sits at the centre of the range. Native to Rioja and Ribera del Duero, the grape ripens early and copes well with warm seasons, which suits the Barossa's climate. A touch of oak adds spice and structure without masking the fruit. The 2024 is garnet in colour, with dark cherry, chocolate and rose, hints of spicy oak and cola bean, and a palate of brooding dark berries and mocha carried by long, plush tannins.

Serve at around 16 degrees. Pair it with slow-cooked beef, grilled chorizo, Spanish-style meatballs or smoky roast eggplant.
