Description

Seghesio Sonoma Zinfandel is a juicy, fresh-fruited Zinfandel blend from one of Sonoma County's most respected Zinfandel families.

Edoardo Seghesio came to California from Piedmont in the 1880s and planted his first Zinfandel in northern Sonoma in the 1890s, founding a family winery that became closely tied to the grape. Based in Healdsburg, Seghesio draws on vineyards across Sonoma County and blends Zinfandel with small amounts of Petite Sirah and Syrah for colour and structure. The cooler 2023 season, with cool nights and an extended ripening period, preserved crisp, fresh fruit: red raspberry, Santa Rosa plum and blackberry, lively acidity and silky, supple tannins.

Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees. American barbecue is the classic match, from smoked brisket to pork ribs, but it is also great with pizza, lamb burgers or spiced sausages.
