Stanton & Killeen Rutherglen Topaque 500ml NV

Stanton & Killeen Rutherglen Topaque is an entry-tier fortified made from Muscadelle, a sweet after-dinner wine.

Muscadelle was long known locally as Tokay, and it makes the lighter-toned, toffee-and-tea sibling of Rutherglen Muscat. This is the youngest and freshest of the region's four tiers. The very ripe grapes are partly fermented and fortified, then aged in old oak, with younger and older wine blended for a consistent style.

Bright and toffee-like with a clean finish. Try 60 ml at 14–16°C, or a little chilled, with crème caramel, pecan pie or a firm washed-rind cheese.
