The Strada al Sasso is 100% Sangiovese and comes from a single windswept vineyard block within our prized La Porta vineyard. This exceptional micro-cru features high-density spacing, careful matching of rootstocks and clones to the soils, and low yields. The soils are 38% sandstone, 32% limestone, 30% loam, and galestro. La Porta means “the door” or “the opening.”

Eggplant Lasagne
Ingredients:
- 2 large eggplants, sliced
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Brush eggplant slices with olive oil and roast for 20 minutes until tender.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
- Layer marinara sauce, roasted eggplant, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella in a baking dish.
- Repeat layers, finishing with mozzarella on top. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
