Description
Thomas Wines Synergy Semillon is a dry Semillon blended across several Hunter Valley vineyards.
A warm, sunny growing season in 2024 produced riper fruit than the cooler year before it, and that shows here as more flesh without any loss of the acid line. The blend leans on Braemore for around two-thirds, with Brycefield at Lovedale and Fordwich Hill filling out the rest. All three are old-vine sites that also supply single-vineyard wines in Andrew Thomas's range; this bottling takes the parcels that step aside for those. Stainless steel ferment, early bottling, nothing else. Semillon picked at low sugar and made without oak is the Hunter's signature, and few people do it as consistently.
Juicy and punchy, lemon curd and ripe lime driven along by zippy acidity to a clean, dry end. Serve it cold, about 9 degrees, in an ordinary white wine glass. Fish tacos, chicken and avocado sandwiches or salt-and-pepper squid all fit neatly.
