Thomas Wines Two Of A Kind Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a white blend of Hunter Valley Semillon and Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc.

Blends that crossed state lines made some of Australia's most famous wines in the 1950s and 60s, and this label is a deliberate nod to them. Semillon makes up 68 per cent, off an early-picked block at Braemore in the Hunter; the Sauvignon Blanc comes from the Adelaide Hills, pressed at Kaesler and trucked cold across to the Hunter. The two were blended as soon as they could be and left on lees to build a little texture, then bottled early to hold the freshness. Andrew Thomas grew up in McLaren Vale, so the interstate habit is not out of character.

Citrus up front with tropical fruit behind, bouncy and fleshy in the mouth, finishing clean and dry. Serve at 8 degrees. Good with a summer salad, grilled haloumi or a bowl of mussels, and fine on its own in the sun.
