Tiefenbrunner Merus Pinot Grigio 2024

Tiefenbrunner Merus Pinot Grigio is a dry white from Alto Adige, the alpine, German-speaking north of Italy.

Alto Adige, or Südtirol, lies high in the Italian Alps against the Austrian border, a bilingual province where vineyards climb the valley sides above the Adige river and terraces run steeply up towards the mountains. Warm days and cold alpine nights preserve acidity and give the whites unusual definition, which is why the region is regarded as one of Italy's finest sources of white wine. Tiefenbrunner is based at Castel Turmhof in Entiklar, in the commune of Kurtatsch, and farms plots at a wide range of altitudes, including some of the highest vineyards in the country. This Pinot Grigio is pressed gently and fermented cool in stainless steel, with no oak.

Serve well chilled, at around 10 degrees, with antipasti, white fish, chicken or lighter pasta dishes. It is made for drinking young.
