Voyager Estate Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2021

Voyager Estate Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is a dry, organically grown white blend from Margaret River.

Sauvignon runs to 80 per cent here, drawn from five blocks with different aspects and ripening patterns, which broadens the flavour spectrum considerably. The remaining fifth is Semillon off North Block 10, planted in 1995, contributing lemon pith, palate weight and a firmer line. Several seasons of organic farming and carefully held yields meant the fruit came through the difficult 2021 vintage in good order, with purity and bright natural acidity intact. A small portion of the Semillon was fermented in barrel and left on lees, which fills out the middle while the finish stays clean and quick.

Grapefruit, snow pea and passionfruit, with a creamy thread underneath and a dry, quick finish. Around 9 degrees. It is a natural with oysters, but also good with chicken and lemon skewers or a plate of fresh mozzarella and peas.
