Voyager Estate Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2023

Voyager Estate Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is a crisp dry white from Margaret River's gravelly loam soils.

Four Sauvignon blocks, each with its own microclimate, account for 74 per cent of this blend and set the crunchy, tropical tone. Semillon takes the balance at 26 per cent, from the 1995-planted North Block 10, adding lemon pith, weight and shape. The 2023 season turned out to be one of the better ones in Margaret River, warm through the days, cool at night, with no heat spikes to rush things, and the whites came in pure and lively. A tenth of the Semillon was fermented in barrel and aged on lees for texture, which still leaves the finish snappy.

Aromas of guava, lime leaf and freshly cut herbs, then a taut, mineral palate that finishes dry. Serve at 8-10 degrees. Match it with sashimi, grilled asparagus with feta, or a bowl of Vietnamese noodles.
