Voyager Estate Sparkling Chenin Blanc 2024

Voyager Estate Sparkling Chenin Blanc is a dry traditional-method sparkling from Margaret River.

Warmer than usual temperatures through 2024 brought even, early ripening, and the fruit on Weightmans Block 1 came in during early February, a record for the variety on this estate. Early ripening is why the block was selected in the first place: full flavour at low sugar, with acidity still high. Hand-picked bunches were whole-bunch pressed to tank for a cool ferment, with a small parcel set aside in a new oak puncheon for extra dimension. After a short maturation the wine went to bottle for its second fermentation and stayed on lees until March 2025.

Apple crunch and sharp lemon, honey and toast behind, and a fine bead carrying a racy, dry finish. Serve at 6-8 degrees. Take it with sashimi, a salt-crusted fish, or simply a bowl of chips and good company.
