Description

Alkoomi Family Collection Shiraz comes from the family's Frankland River vineyard in Western Australia.

Frankland River Shiraz is peppery and savoury rather than rich, which is what a cool inland sub-region does to the variety, and it is one of the two styles the district is known for alongside Riesling. Alkoomi was founded in 1971 and its first vintage followed in 1976. The wine is fermented in open vessels and matured in a mix of French and American oak.

Serve at 17 degrees with lamb, beef or a mushroom ragù. Drink over the next eight years.
