Arnoux-Lachaux Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Procès 2021

Les Procès is a very small Premier Cru south of Nuits-Saint-Georges, and Lachaux's parcel accounts for a large share of it.

Les Procès sits next to Les Pruliers on the southern side of Nuits-Saint-Georges, below the Château Gris, on the stonier upper part of the slope. The vineyard is tiny, and beyond the 0.7 hectares farmed by Arnoux-Lachaux almost all the remaining land belongs to Maison Joseph Drouhin. The domaine's vines here are over fifty years old. Charles Lachaux's viticulture, built on high trellising, no trimming, horse work and very low yields, together with whole-bunch fermentation and minimal new oak, is aimed at perfume and detail, which is a marked departure from the firm, robust style Nuits-Saint-Georges has traditionally been associated with. This is one of the more immediately appealing wines in the domaine's range.

Approachable young and good for twelve to fifteen years. Serve at 16-18°C with roast lamb, game birds or a hard alpine cheese.
