Description

Bachelet-Monnot Chassagne-Montrachet is drawn from six parcels spread across the village, including one sitting below Bâtard-Montrachet.

Chassagne-Montrachet gives whites with a little more flesh and a rounder shoulder than Puligny, though the best sites keep plenty of cut. This village cuvée comes from six well-sited parcels: La Canière, Le Chêne, Les Benoîtes, Pot Bois, En Journoblot and Les Houillères. Most lie below the Premiers Crus, the exception being Pot Bois, one of the highest vineyards in the commune, which sits above Paul Pillot's Clos Saint-Jean. Les Houillères also deserves mention, positioned as it is directly below the Grand Cru Bâtard-Montrachet. The average vine age is thirty years. As across the domaine, the fruit is fermented with wild yeasts and raised in 350-litre barrels, which keeps oak character to a minimum while allowing the wine to build texture on its lees.

Drink from two years and over the following eight. Serve at 10–12°C with roast pork, grilled snapper or a creamy chicken dish.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
