Description

Bachelet-Monnot Chassagne-Montrachet is a village wine assembled from six parcels spread across the commune, including one of its highest vineyards.

Chassagne-Montrachet occupies the southern end of the Côte de Beaune's white wine heartland, where limestone gives wines a little more flesh than Puligny while keeping the same underlying tension. The six parcels behind this cuvée are La Canière, Le Chêne, Les Benoîtes, Pot Bois, En Journoblot and Les Houillères. Most lie below the premier crus; the exception is Pot Bois, one of the highest vineyards in the village, sitting above Clos Saint-Jean, while Les Houillères is worth noting for its position below Bâtard. Average vine age across the group is 30 years. Vinification follows the domaine's standard for whites, with spontaneous fermentation and raising in 350-litre barrels, and the blend consistently delivers texture and spice alongside real length.

Ready from release and good for six to eight years. Serve at 10-12°C with roast pork, grilled barramundi or a soft washed-rind cheese.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
