Description

Bachelet-Monnot Chassagne-Montrachet is a village white assembled from eight parcels spread across the commune.

Chassagne-Montrachet sits at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune and shares the Montrachet hill with Puligny, though its village wines tend to carry a little more flesh. Brothers Marc and Alexandre Bachelet are based at Dezize-lès-Maranges and have built a strong following for their whites since taking over in 2005. The parcels behind this wine are La Canière, Le Chêne, Les Benoîtes, Pot Bois, En Journoblot and Les Houillères among others. Most sit below the premiers crus, the exception being Pot Bois, one of the highest vineyards in the village, above the Clos Saint-Jean. Les Houillères is worth noting too, lying directly below Bâtard-Montrachet. The average vine age across the group is thirty years. The domaine's approach in the cellar is deliberately restrained, with measured oak and unhurried élevage.

Best from two years after release and holding eight to ten years. Serve at 10-12°C with roast chicken, scallops or a creamy fish pie.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
