Description

Bachelet-Monnot Puligny-Montrachet is a village wine assembled from five well-placed sites, the youngest vines twenty-five years old.

Puligny-Montrachet is the most tightly wound of the great white villages of the Côte de Beaune, its wines built on chalk and tension rather than the breadth of neighbouring Meursault. The domaine now works twelve parcels in the commune, many of which feed into this village cuvée; in the main it is drawn from five well-sited plots — Les Meix, Les Enseignères, Corvée des Vignes, Les Noyers Bret and Les Houillères. The youngest vines are twenty-five years old and the average is considerably higher, which is unusual for a village bottling and shows in the concentration. Like all the whites here, it was fermented entirely with wild yeasts and raised in 350-litre barrels, a format the brothers prefer for the way it limits oak influence while still allowing a slow, gentle élevage.

Drink from two years and over the following eight. Serve at 10–12°C with grilled fish, roast chicken or a soft-rind cheese.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
