Description

Bachelet-Monnot Puligny-Montrachet is a village wine assembled from five well-placed sites where the youngest vines are already 25 years old.

Puligny-Montrachet sits at the heart of the Côte de Beaune's white wine country, on limestone soils with a high water table that keeps the vines from stress and gives the wines their taut, mineral cut. The domaine now works twelve parcels in the commune, most of which feed this village cuvée. The core comes from Les Meix, Les Enseignères, Corvée des Vignes, Les Noyers Bret and Les Houillères, a spread that balances the stony upper sites with the deeper ground closer to the road. Vine age averages well above the 25-year minimum. As with all of Marc and Alex Bachelet's whites, the fruit was pressed gently, fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and raised in 350-litre barrels rather than standard barriques, which keeps the oak influence low and the emphasis on texture.

Drinking well from two years and good for six to eight. Serve at 10-12°C with grilled flathead, roast chicken or a chicken and leek pie.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
