Benjamin Leroux Grand Cru Chambertin 1.5L MAGNUM 2022

This magnum holds Benjamin Leroux's Chambertin, made from two barrels of biodynamically farmed old vines in the heart of the grand cru.

Le Chambertin sits mid-slope above the village of Gevrey-Chambertin and is the benchmark for power and longevity among Burgundy's grand crus. Benjamin Leroux built his reputation at Domaine du Comte Armand in Pommard before establishing his own house in Beaune in 2007, working across a long list of small parcels with a consistent, low-intervention hand. His Chambertin parcel is tiny and farmed biodynamically, and the crop yields only two barrels. This release was vinified with 80% whole bunches, which lends aromatic lift and firmer, finer tannin to a wine that already has depth in reserve. The Australian allocation runs to six magnums, and the large format will slow its development further.

Cellar for a decade or more before opening; serve at 16-18°C with roast venison, beef in red wine or aged hard cheese.
