Description

Exopto Tinto is a red wine from Rioja in Spain.

Rioja reds are built from the traditional red varieties of the appellation, but the blend is not stated for this bottling and we have not guessed at it. The region runs along the upper Ebro in northern Spain, sheltered from Atlantic weather by the Sierra de Cantabria, and Bodegas Exopto works there.

A young Rioja red of this kind is usually medium-bodied with red fruit and a savoury edge rather than heavy oak. Serve at around 16 degrees with grilled lamb, chorizo, or anything tomato-based.
