Bret Brothers Mâcon-Villages Terroirs du Mâconnais 2021

Bret Brothers Terroirs du Mâconnais is a Mâcon-Villages assembled from organically farmed parcels across several of the region's better appellations.

The blend draws on the brothers' holdings at Mâcon-Fuissé and Chaintré, along with fruit from Viré-Clessé La Verchère, Saint-Véran En Combe and Pouilly-Fuissé En Carementrant. These are serious sites for a wine at this level, and the vines average close to 50 years of age. The domaine also adds the last 50 litres of each of the biodynamic, unfiltered La Soufrandière cuvées into this Mâcon-Villages, which lifts the blend further. Ageing was half in tank and half in older barrels for 11 months before bottling, with no new oak, in keeping with the way everything is handled in this cellar. The farming is organic, and the estate's premium sites are certified biodynamic.

Ready on release and will hold three to five years. Serve at 10-12°C with roast chicken, pork terrine or a plate of grilled vegetables.
