Description
Bret Brothers Mâcon-Villages Terroirs du Mâconnais is assembled from parcels across three Mâconnais appellations, topped up with the last 50 litres of each of La Soufrandière’s premium cuvées.
The Mâconnais runs south from Tournus to the rock of Solutré and is the largest and warmest white-wine district in Burgundy, its Chardonnay grown on limestone and clay. Jean-Guillaume and Marc-Antoine Bret farm the family estate of La Soufrandière at Vinzelles and run a parallel label, Bret Brothers, working with growers held to the same standard. This bottling blends several parcels in Mâcon-Villages, Saint-Véran and Pouilly-Fuissé with the final run of each of the domaine’s own biodynamic wines. Vine age averages around 50 years. Maturation lasted 11 months, split evenly between tank and older barrels, so the wood contributes texture rather than flavour. The farming behind it is certified organic and biodynamic.
Ready now and holding for three or four years. Serve at 10-12°C with roast chicken, grilled prawns or gruyère.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
