Cascina Penna-Currado Bricco Lago is a Langhe Nebbiolo from the hills around Alba in Piedmont.

The Langhe appellation allows Nebbiolo to be bottled younger and lighter than Barolo or Barbaresco, which gives a more immediate version of a variety usually made to wait. Bricco means a hilltop in Piedmontese, and sites like this catch the sun and drain hard. Fermentation is with native yeast, with ageing in large oak casks.

Serve at 16 degrees with pasta, roast pork or salumi. Drink over the next six years.
