Description

Catalina Sounds Sound of White Chardonnay is a single-vineyard wine from the estate block in the Waihopai Valley.

The Sound of White vineyard's clay and loess soils and its elevation of around 200 metres give Chardonnay a tighter, more mineral profile than Marlborough's valley floor. The estate bottles the site separately as its top tier. Catalina Sounds was founded in 2005, with Matthew Ward as winemaker. The wine is barrel-fermented and matured on lees.

Serve at 12 degrees with scallops, roast chicken or a gruyère tart. It develops over six years.
