Description
Champagne Agrapart & Fils 7 Crus takes its name from the seven Côte des Blancs villages that supply the fruit for the estate's entry cuvée.
The villages behind the blend are Avize, from younger vines aged twenty to forty years, along with Cramant, Oger, Oiry, Avenay-Val-d'Or, Coligny and Vauciennes. As with everything at Agrapart, all the fruit comes from vineyards the estate owns and farms itself. This release blends two harvests: half from 2020 and premier cru sites, half from 2019 and grand cru sites, with the reserve component raised in neutral 600-litre oak casks. The blend is 90 per cent Chardonnay and 10 per cent Pinot Noir. It was aged for just over two years on lees and disgorged with 5 g/L dosage. This is the most immediately seductive wine in the range but still finely drawn, long, deep and saline with a gentle grip on the close, and volumes reaching Australia are small.
The most approachable Agrapart and good as an aperitif or with food; serve at 8°C with oysters, fried whitebait or a soft cheese.
