Champagne Egly-Ouriet 1er Cru Les Vignes de Bisseuil is the estate's only Chardonnay-dominant cuvée, drawn from a single premier cru holding east of Aÿ.

Bisseuil sits just east of Aÿ and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ in the Grande Vallée de la Marne. Where those two villages are celebrated for Pinot Noir, Bisseuil is the one commune in the area planted to more Chardonnay than Pinot, which is what drew Francis and Annick Egly to buy here in anticipation of their children Clémence and Charles joining the estate. The family works 1.5 hectares across two lieux-dits on the south-facing slope, with vines averaging forty years. The blend is 70 per cent Chardonnay with 15 per cent each of Pinot Noir and Meunier. Debuting with the 2022 release, this is the third bottling and the second drawn from three vintages. It was vinified in barrel and spent four years in the cellar before disgorgement with 2 g/L dosage.

Rich in texture yet bright, it drinks well now and will hold five to eight years; serve with roast chicken, prawns or a soft cheese at about 8°C.
