Champagne Egly-Ouriet Grand Cru is a Pinot-led grower Champagne drawn entirely from low-yielding grand cru vines on the Montagne de Reims.

Egly-Ouriet is based at Ambonnay and farms grand cru holdings there and in Bouzy and Verzenay, all classic Pinot Noir territory on the southern and eastern flanks of the Montagne de Reims. The blend is consistently 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. Francis Egly has long picked later than most of his neighbours, and the wine's weight comes from that ripeness rather than from dosage. The musts fermented with native yeasts, with more than half the volume fermented and matured in barrel, and the wine spent close to a year on its fine lees before being bottled for its second fermentation. This release is based on the 2020 harvest, bottled with a dosage of 1 g/L and disgorged in July 2025. It is a Champagne built for the table rather than the aperitif.

Ready to drink and likely to gain depth over the next year or two; serve with roast poultry, mushroom dishes or a hard alpine cheese, at about 8°C.
