Champagne Jacques Selosse Collection Lieux-Dits NV

Champagne Jacques Selosse Collection Lieux-Dits brings together all six of the estate's single-vineyard Champagnes in one set.

Anselme Selosse's lieux-dits programme, begun in the early 2000s, applies the same winemaking to six contrasting sites so that the differences between them are the point. Three come from the Côte des Blancs and are Chardonnay: Cramant Chemin de Châlons, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger Les Carelles and Avize Les Chantereines. Two are from the Vallée de la Marne, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ Sous Le Mont and Aÿ La Côte Faron, both Pinot Noir. The sixth, Ambonnay Le Bout du Clos on the Montagne de Reims, combines the two varieties. All are farmed with the low yields and late picking the house is known for, fermented and raised in oak, and given long lees ageing with minimal dosage. This year's wines are based on the 2017 vintage. Between them the set covers chalk, clay and flint, north and south exposures, and both principal Champagne grapes.

Best opened side by side, and all six will keep for a decade and more. Serve at around 8°C with a long meal built around shellfish, poultry and hard cheese.
