This zero-dosage Blanc de Blancs from Laherte Frères is drawn from the family's chalkiest sites at Chavot and Épernay, and is bottled in magnum.

Laherte Frères farms in the Coteaux Sud d'Épernay, a district of small parcels between the Côte des Blancs and the Vallée de la Marne. The vineyards behind this cuvée are biodynamically farmed on chalk and chalky clay marl with pockets of flint and schist, and that chalk drives the wine's saline, citric line while the clay supplies fruit weight and texture. Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs Premiers Crus of Vertus and Voipreux has recently been added to the blend. This release is based on the low-yielding 2021 vintage with 50% reserve wines from the two previous years. Primary fermentation takes place in barrique, foudre and tronconique cask, the wine ages just over two years in bottle, and every bottle is disgorged by hand without dosage.

Drinking well now, and the magnum will hold for several years. Serve at 8°C with oysters, sashimi or grilled white fish.
