Champagne Laherte Frères Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature is an equal split of Pinot Noir and Meunier, bottled with no dosage.

Laherte Frères is based at Chavot in the Coteaux Sud d’Épernay, and Aurélien Laherte has built this newer cuvée to sit alongside the house’s Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature. Half the blend is Pinot Noir from Le Breuil in the Marne Valley, the other half Meunier from Chavot and Moussy in the Coteaux Sud d’Épernay, the family’s home ground. The vins clairs ferment naturally and are aged in barrel and foudre, and the wine completes malolactic fermentation before bottling without dosage, a choice Laherte makes to respect fruit intensity and mineral freshness. It combines the supple fruit of Meunier with the vinosity of Pinot Noir and the salinity of the chalky soils, and the colour is notably deep for a Champagne.

Drinking well now and holding for three or four years. Serve at about 8°C with charcuterie, roast chicken or a mushroom tart.
