Champagne Larmandier-Bernier 1er Cru Longitude Blanc de Blancs is a Côte des Blancs Chardonnay drawn from sites with very thin topsoil over chalk.

Larmandier-Bernier is based in Vertus and farms biodynamically across the Côte des Blancs, working with long lees ageing and very low dosage. Longitude is the house's Premier Cru blanc de blancs, built on a 2018 base with between 35 and 40 per cent reserve wine going back to 2004. The name refers both to the north-south line along which the source villages sit and to the shape of the wine itself. All the fruit is Côte des Blancs Chardonnay, from Cramant, Avize, Oger and the northern part of Vertus, and the vineyards chosen for this cuvée have noticeably thinner topsoils, so the roots run straight into the chalk bedrock. That gives a more linear and mineral wine than its stablemate Latitude, with the reserve wines lending depth.

Ready now and capable of a decade in bottle. Serve at 8°C with oysters, sashimi or a plate of hard cheese.
