Description
Champagne Pascal Agrapart Grand Cru Terroirs Blanc de Blancs is drawn entirely from grand cru Chardonnay across four Côte des Blancs villages, with reserve wine making up 70 per cent of the blend.
The Côte des Blancs is the chalk escarpment running south from Épernay where Chardonnay reaches its most mineral expression in Champagne, and Avize, Cramant, Oger and Oiry are four of its most highly regarded villages. Agrapart farms in all four, and Terroirs is assembled only from grand cru sites within them. Average vine age is more than 50 years, which the house treats as a quality factor on a par with the sites themselves. This release draws on the 2021, 2020 and 2019 harvests, the earlier years accounting for a remarkable 70 per cent of the cuvée. After natural fermentation, half the wine matured in large-format neutral oak, and it spent more than 36 months on lees. Dosage is held to 3 g/L, and disgorgement was carried out by hand in March 2025.
Drinking well now, though another year or two under cork will reward patience. Serve at about 8°C with scallops, roast chicken or a well-aged comté.
