Juste Rosé is Philipponnat's pale rosé drawn from the Clos des Goisses, made deliberately restrained rather than bold.

Clos des Goisses is the walled, steeply pitched, south-facing vineyard at Mareuil-sur-Aÿ that Philipponnat has bottled on its own since 1935. Juste Rosé joined the range in 1999. Rather than the flamboyant wine the warm site might suggest, Charles Philipponnat chose a paler, more measured style, and the name is a play on that: hardly a rosé. The blend is 80 per cent Pinot Noir and 20 per cent Chardonnay, built on a similar base to the Clos des Goisses Blanc with additional Pinot from several lieux-dits within the clos, among them La Dure, Le Collet, Les 28 Verges, Les Petits Cintres and Les Jolivets Noirs. Colour and structure now come from around 30 per cent saignée, which gives the house control over the hue. Only two to three thousand bottles are made each year and the wine ages for nine years before release.

Ready on release and able to hold for a decade. Serve at around 8°C with salmon, duck breast or a plate of charcuterie.
