Description

Taittinger Prélude Grands Crus is drawn entirely from Grand Cru villages, in equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Only seventeen villages in Champagne hold Grand Cru status, and Prélude takes Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims in equal measure. It is a non-vintage wine but made from a far narrower selection of fruit than the Brut Réserve, and spends longer on lees. Taittinger ages its wines in the chalk crayères beneath Reims.

Serve at 9 degrees with scallops, roast chicken or a soft cheese. Drink over the next eight years.
