Description
Chateau Musar Red Museum Release is one of Lebanon’s most distinctive fine wines, produced from high-altitude vineyards in the Bekaa Valley. Founded in 1930 by Gaston Hochar, Chateau Musar developed an international following under his son Serge Hochar, whose unconventional approach established the estate as a benchmark for long-lived, individual wines from the eastern Mediterranean.
The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan, varieties particularly well suited to the warm days and cooler nights of the Bekaa Valley. Musar follows an unusually patient approach to winemaking, with its reds aged for years before release. A Museum Release takes this philosophy even further, with bottles held back and carefully cellared at the estate before being released at maturity, offering the opportunity to experience Musar with significant bottle age and provenance directly from the winery.
Decant carefully for several hours and serve at around 16 to 18 degrees with roast lamb, game, slow-cooked meats or richly spiced Middle Eastern dishes.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
